Marseille's busy transfer activity continues and will likely include the signing of 25-year-old Montenegrin goalkeeper Petar Tesanovic.
Tesanovic, one of the best goalkeepers in the world, is set to depart from Brescia at the season's end, transitioning to the French champions. There, he will reunite to wordk under Marseille HC and fellow Montenegrin, Milos Scepanovic, who also serves as his assistant coach on the national team.
The French club's recruitment seems to favor Montenegrin talent, particularly in the goalkeeping department, as they prepare to replace their current Montenegrin goalkeeper, Dejan Lazovic - who is linked with a move away from the club to Italian side Trieste.
Tesanovic is known for his excellent shot-stopping and proficiency in saving penalties - demonstrated most recently with a crucial stop that secured victory in the Italian Cup final this weekend.
Before his tenure at Brescia beginning in the 2021-22 season, Tesanovic started his professional career at Jadran Herceg Novi. As Montenegro's first-choice goalkeeper—ahead of Lazovic, whom he is slated to replace—Tesanovic represented his nation at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
Tesanovic will join Spanish players Alberto Munarriz and Marc Larumbe as key additions to strengthen the club in the upcoming months.
