Spain has two clubs in the Champions League this season. Barceloneta is atop Group A, ahead of Pro Recco and Olympiacos, and it will most likely stay there until the end of the Preliminary Stage. Sabadell is at the bottom of Group B with slim chances of reaching the F8.
But, the results in Europe don’t mirror the situation in the Spanish League.
Sabadell beat Barceloneta for the second time this season. Sabadell recorded a 10:8 win in the postponed derby of the 15th round and increased the lead ahead of its archrival to six points (two wins). Five months ago, Sabadell became the first club to beat Barceloneta in the Spanish League after more than five years (recording an 11:8 away win). And the second victory over the title holder has almost guaranteed Sabadell a top position in the playoffs. There are four rounds until the end of the regular season, and Sabadell, which has a perfect record, almost cemented 1st place.
