Vouliagmeni and Glyfada, the two best teams at the SEDY cup in Greece, are both undefeated heading into tomorrow night’s showdown clash. They face off tomorrow at 21:00 local time. Both teams played twice today and won without much difficulty.
Vouliagmeni defeated Alimos NAC by a score of 12-6, with Eleni Elliniadi contributing seven goals, before Kiki Liosi’s team tore apart Peristeri by a score of 21-1; with centre forward Kiki Stratidaki, who joined from AEK over the summer, doing the most damage in front of goal with five scores.
Glyfada, on the whole, had slightly closer games. After scoring four yesterday, Eleftheria Fountotou scored four more today, as she did yesterday, to lead her team to victory over Patra. After that, Teo Andreakos saw his team win 14-11 against Panionios.
In other games played today, Panionios GSS defeated Peristeri SC 12-7. The team coached by Taso Papanastasiou enjoyed an early 3-0 lead, and four more goals from Maria Bogachenko helped them secure their first victory of the tournament. Alimos then defeated Patra in an intense match to secure their second win of the tournament. One of Greece’s young talents, Evdokia Tsimara (who won bronze at the U19 European Championships this summer) had an excellent game, netting five times.
