Sabadell beat Barceloneta twice in the regular season and won 1st place before the playoffs of the Spanish League.
But Barceloneta displayed excellent performances when it was the most important.
Today, Barceloneta beat Sabadell 13:8 in the second match of the playoffs final of the Spanish Championship and won its third trophy in the national competitions this season (after Spanish Super Cup and Spanish Cup).
This season’s title is Barceloneta’s 23rd crown in the Spanish Championships – the 18th in a row.

Barceloneta recorded a comfortable 9:4 victory in Sabadell’s pool two days ago. Today’s game produced more goals, but the distance was the same.
Sabadell was never in front, but Barceloneta needed more time to secure the win than in the first game.
In the first match, Barceloneta led 5:1 at halftime. Today, the reigning champion earned a 5:1 advantage already in the fifth minute of the game. Still, Sabadell halved the deficit by the end of the first quarter (3:6).
In the following eight minutes, the visitors came even closer (5:7).
Dusan Matkovic opened the third period with an action goal for 8:5. Sabadell didn’t give up the chase and reduced the gap to 6:8 and 7:9. But then came crucial moments. In the 23rd minute, Martin Famera converted a man-up for 10:7. The same player stretched the margin to four early in the fourth period (11:7). Felipe Perrone scored from a penalty in the 27th minute and widened the gap (12:7) and there was no way back for Sabadell. In the remaining time, the teams exchanged the goals, and Barceloneta continued its long streak of trophies in the Spanish League.
