Just a week before this win, Spandau bettered Hannover in the German Super Cup. The result was the same.

Esslingen – Neukolln postponed

Between the encounters in the Super Cup and the German League, Spandau and Hannover played their Champions League matches. Spandau surprised OSC Budapest by winning a point (9:9), while Hannover suffered a 15-goal loss to Barceloneta (5:20).

The Bundesliga derby proved that Spandau was in better shape. The Berliners maybe have a better team than Waspo this season.

Everything was practically decided in the first half. Hannover couldn’t take the lead in this match. The visitors equalized twice (1:1 and 2:2). But, Spandau went to 5:3 before the second quarter. The home side doubled its advantage already in the 11th minute (8:4). Hannover reduced the gap to three shortly before the middle break (6:8), but Dmitri Kholod, the best player of the match made it 9:6 in the 16th minute.

Hannover came close to the hosts twice in the third period (7:9 and 8:10), but the Berliners regained a four-goal lead in the 23rd minute (12:8). In the remaining time, the defenses were up to the task. Only one goal was scored. It happened a second before the end when Fynn Schutze set the final score.

ASC Duisburg defeated OSC Potsdam. An excellent opening of the game put ASC Duisburg on the right track. The hosts led 6:1 in the middle of the second period. However, OSC Potsdam managed to get back into the battle for the points. The visitors cut the deficit to one goal (5:6) in the 19th minute. But, after OSC’s series of four consecutive goals, came ASC Duisburg’s 3:0 run. The home side earned a 9:5 advantage and kept a 4-goal distance until the final buzzer.

White Sharks Hannover defeated Ludwigsburg after a big comeback. Ludwigsburg started very well. In the 11th minute, the visitors led 5:1. But, White Sharks produced a big comeback and leveled at 6:6 in the 17th minute. Shortly after, the hosts earned a 7:6 lead. The sides were tied at 9:9 before the final quarter, which brought new turns. White Sharks took a 10:9 lead, but Ludwigsburg responded with two goals and went ahead – 11:10. However, White Sharks scored the last three goals in the game and recorded its fourth win.

White Sharks moved to 3rd place, ahead of the “older brother” Waspo 98 Hannover. Still, White Sharks and Waspo haven’t met each other yet. The standings will probably be different after their encounter.

1.Spandau 7 – 14
2. ASC Duisburg 7 – 11
3. White Sharks 6 – 9
4. Waspo 98 Hannover 6 – 8
5. Ludwigsburg 7 – 6
6. Neukolln 6 – 2
7. OSC Potsdam 6 – 0
8. Esslingen 5 – 0
