The match of the day was an encounter between the clubs that compete in the Champions League. Barceloneta hosted Terrassa. Reigning champion celebrated a big 15:8 win, despite the visitors kept up with the favourites for more than two quarters. Even Terrassa’s goalkeeper Inaki Aguilar scored a goal. It happened 15 seconds before the end of the 1st period for 3:3.
In the middle of the third period, the sides were tied at 6:6. But, from that point on, Barceloneta dominated. By the end of this period, Barceloneta jumped to a 10:7 lead and controlled everything in the last eight minutes for a 15:8 win. Alvaro Granados was the top scorer with 5 goals.
The most interesting game of the round was played in Madrid. Mataro visited the capital of Spain to face Real Canoe. Mataro built a 3-goal advantage in the 2nd quarter (6:3). Real was climbing back from time to time, but it couldn’t equalise. Mataro took the points with a narrow 10:9 win.
