David Palma’s girls overcame their opponents (3-12) in the second match of the final round of the Iberdrola League. CN Sant Andreu still had a remarkable season in the national competition, despite the two defeats.
CN Sabadell is not getting off its hype train with yet another title, dominating the Spanish women’s Honor Division. Yesterday, the girls conquered the national championship. They appeared in 16 championships, and this is their eighth consecutive title.
The other finalist, CN Sant Andreu, got only three goals in their credit, ending the game with 12:3. Sabadell carried a fantastic victory, especially for a team that has not lost more than a single game throughout the season.
Full-on Dominance by CN Sabadell
After the triumph in their first game, David Palma’s team continued their success in the pools, dominating the championship from beginning to the end. Anni Espar, the league’s top scorer with 76 goals, looked back on the championship, saying that “winning is not tiresome”. She added that they are all happy with “this season’s work and reaching the final with the possibility of winning another title”.
“We played a very good game and the results show that, but Sant Andreu has made it difficult for us. Not only in the finals, but throughout the league,” said David Palma.
Maica García was as satisfied as her teammates. The center player of CN Sabadell highlighted that they have been “maintaining good motivation” and that they have done “great daily work.” Garcia reminded the viewers that “the league has to be won every day, not just in the finals.”
Javier Aznar’s team resisted the attacks two quarters (3:5), creating problems for CN Sabadell thanks to the aggressive and concentrated defense. But the other two quarters were very different.
The defenders of the title have played the last two quarters with 0:7. In the second half of the game, Judit Forca and Garcia scored the goals fast and bypassed the defenses of their former partner Elena Sánchez.
