Three weeks after the new season start in the German Water Polo League (DWL), men’s Supercup is announced. It will be held in Hannover through 9th and 10th November.
The total of six games will be played at the internationally-proven Stadium pools. After four appearances in Berlin, the tournaments will once again last for two days. Among the top teams, there will be Waspo 98 Hannover, Wasserfreunde Spandau 04, OSC Postdam, and ASC Duisburg.
The match schedule is not yet available, but it will be public on Saturday. The two big favorites — Waspo 98 and Spandau 04 — will confront each other.
On a yet unknown date, women’s Supercup will start, in which SV Nikar Heidelberg and Waspo 98 Hannover will duel for the trophy.
The first big season event will not be the first game on the stadium, though. Already on November 3rd at 7 pm, Hannover welcomes no other than the reigning champions Olympiakos Piraeus (Greece) in their first home appearance of the Champions League. This is one of the few weekend dates in the highest European club water ball competition, which offers the away fans a good opportunity to accompany their team.
