Szolnok defeated Honved 10:8 in the derby of the Hungarian League 5th round.
Szolnok continued its unbeaten run. Now, it has four wins and one draw.
Besides Szolnok, three clubs are unbeaten. But those three have perfect records, five wins in as many matches – Ferencvaros, OSC Budapest and Vasas.
Ferencvaros had an easy task in the 5th round, beating KSI 18:8. Vasas recorded a 14:8 away win over Eger. OSC extended its winning streak with a 20:12 victory over BVSC.
Kaposvar defeated Szentes 16:13, despite the fact that trailed by five goals at the beginning of the game. A game between Miskolc and PVSK was exciting,too.

Szolnok took an early 2:0 lead in the derby against Honved. The visitors from Budapest leveled at 2:2 before the end of the first quarter. At halftime, the score was 3:3. The third quarter was crucial for the outcome. Szolnok built a 4-goal lead (8:4). Honved halved the deficit in the fourth period – 7:9. Szolnok’s Matyas Pasztor scored his third goal in the match to make it 10:7 (30th minute). Bendeguz Ekler responded with his third goal (8:10) with 02:20 minutes left on the clock. Still, Szolnok kept a 2-goal advantage in the remaining time.
Vasas defeated Eger convincingly. The home team kept with the favorite for a while. The first quarter belonged to Vasas (3:2). Still, Eger leveled at 3:3 and at 4:4 again. After the second equalizer, Vasas, led by Akos Konarik, produced a 4:0 run and went to 8:4 before the middle break. Eger fought hard, but it couldn’t come back.
OSC started slowly in the game against BVSC. The hosts had a 2:0 and 3:2 lead in the opening minutes. Still, OSC found its rhythm quickly and won the first quarter (6:4). BVSC cut the deficit to one goal three times in the second quarter (5:6, 6:7, 7:8). But, OSC closed the first half with three unanswered goals and built a 4-goal lead (11:7). Vince Vigvari scored for 12:7 in the 18th minute. However, BVSC didn’t surrender yet. The home side reduced the gap to three goals twice (9:12 and 10:13), but it ran out of for the finish of the match.
Ferencvaros was too strong for KSI.
An encounter between Szentes and Kaposvar was a really “crazy” game. Szentes netted the first five goals in the match and earned a 5:0 lead in the 7th minute. But, Kaposvar recovered from an opening shock. The visitors dominated the second period and they were 9:7 up at halftime. Kaposvar earned a 14:8 advantage before the final eight minutes. Szentes was a better rival in the fourth period, but it couldn’t catch up with the visitors.
Miskolc defeated PVSK. The Pecs-based side had a 2:0 lead after the first eight minutes. However, Miskolc took control in the second quarter. The hosts entered the third quarter leading 4:3. They opened the third period with three unanswered goals and built a solid 7:3 advantage. Still, PVSK was able to come back. The visitors netted four straight goals and leveled at 7:7 (26th minute). But, then came Miskolc’s 3:0 series for 10:7, which decided the match.
Szeged controlled the match against UVSE and recorded a 13:8 win.
