Triple Olympic champion Tamas Molnar has been elected the new Chairman of the FINA Technical Water Polo Committee.
The elections for a new FINA TWPC have been held in Budapest before the end of the 19th World Championships.
Molnar (47), who won Olympic golds with Hungary in 2000,2004 and 2008, retired as a player in 2014. He was a water polo referee. Since 2017 he has been a member of the FINA TWPC. Molnar was a member of LEN TWPC. Two years ago, he was re-elected the Vice president of the Hungarian Water Polo Federation.
Molnar succeeded Spaniard Manuel Lolo Ibern, who was FINA TWPC President between 2017 and 2022.
Ken Kuroda (Japan) has been elected as the TWPC Vice Chairmen, while Stavrula Kozompoli (Greece) has become the Honorary Secretary.

Richard Papazian (France) will be a Committee Member with duties related to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
LEN Vice President and the FINA Bureau member Kyriakos Giannopoulos (Greece) is the FINA TWPC the new Bureau Liaison (a member of the FINA Bureau, whose duties are communication or cooperation between the Bureau and the TWPC).
