Terrassa, which was 1st in Group A of the 1st phase, defeated Sant Andreu much harder than expected.

Sant Andreu had a 2-goal lead (5:3 and 6:4) in the opening period. In the middle of the 2nd quarter, the visitors were still in front (8:7). But, Terrassa produced a 3:0 rush and earned a 10:8 lead before the middle break. The hosts controlled the match in the third period, but Sant Andreu opened the final quarter with an equalizer (12:12). Still, Terrassa responded with two goals for 14:12. The visiting team reduced the gap in the 31st minute (13:14), but it couldn’t equalize once more. Terrassa’s Rodriguez closed the match 17 seconds from the end for the final score (15:13).

The big match of the day, Sabadell-Barcelona, was held earlier since both clubs played European matches in the LEN Euro Cup yesterday.

After a balanced first period, Barcelona stunned Sabadell with four unanswered goals in the second quarter. Sabadell put a lot of effort into a comeback, but Barceloneta kept the win. Two and a half minutes before the end, Barcelona jumped to an 8:5 lead. Sabadell scored two goals in the remaining time, but the 7th goal came too late – 21 seconds from time.
