The 16th round saw a comeback for Crvena Zvezda, as well as the prolonging of the tight race among the top leaders of the group. The teams that will play the final tournament got their victories secured.

Match Reports

Crvena Zvezda showed a great comeback in the match against Primorac. Even though their opponent had a great first half-time in which they took the lead with envious 5:1, Crvena Zvezda dominated the end-game. Aleksandar Filipović’s team served Primorac with an unexpected turn, scoring five in the third quarter, and three in the last one, during which Primorac sank down and accepted their loss. The final score was 13:8.

Mladost welcomed Partizan into their pool and started fiercely with 5:0 only six minutes into the first quarter. The black-and-whites returned quickly, stringing three goals until the end of the quarter. The match soon got another turn as Radu and Petković scored four goals, along with Ćuk who netted three more. On Partizan’s side, Kasum, Barać, Radanović, and Radonjić each scored two with precise shots.

With the final 18:11, the fast-paced game confirmed why Mladost leads the standings with newly acquired three points and 43 in total. According to the players, the key to winning was the explosive start they greeted Partizan with.

There were no complications in Dubrovnik, where Jug played against POŠK. The current champion won with a score of 14:6. One of the most brilliant players was Antonio Vukojević with 11 defenses at Jug’s goal, along with the shooters: Daniil Merkulov (three), and Fatović, Lozina, and Papanastasiou with two goals each.

Jadran Split proved their worth against Šabac with 9:6, while Jadran Carine completely destroyed the fifth-placed Mornar (17:5).
