Three former European champions—Jadran Split, Mladost, and Jug—continued their winning streaks in the Croatian League. Additionally, only Primorje is unbeaten, but the Rijeka-based team had a bye during Round 3 this weekend.
Jadran, playing without a few key players (Fatovic, Bijac, Nemet), easily beat its local rival, OVK Split, 26:9. All outfield players of Jadran found the net, and Antonio Duzevic was the top scorer with four goals.
Mladost started slowly, but after a 3:4 first quarter, the Zagreb-based team recorded an 18:10 victory over Mornar. Luka Bukic netted six goals, and Konstantin Kharkov scored four for the winning team.
Jug beat KPK Korcula 22:11, with five goals from Toni Mozara and Vlaho Pavlic each.
Solaris, which qualified for the Euro Cup Group Stage last week, beat POSK 1937 at home. Solaris earned a 6-goal lead early in the third period (11:5). However, POSK didn’t surrender. The visitors equalized at 13:13 with six minutes left in the game. Solaris refocused and went on a 4:0 run, taking a 17:13 lead. POSK managed to score the final goal of the match, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the deficit. For Solaris, Cubranic, Pelicaric, and Mijic each contributed three goals, while Marin Borovcic Kurir from POSK was the top scorer of the match, with six goals.
Medvescak collected its first points by defeating Zadar in Zagreb, 17:14. Medvescak stunned Zadar with a 7:1 opening lead. The visitors tried to come back, but they couldn’t catch up with Medsvecak. In the 31st minute, Zadar reduced the gap to 14:16, but immediately after that goal, Medvescak struck back with its 17th. Lovre Milos led Medvescak with six goals, while David Babic scored seven for Zadar.
