The Serbian national team travels to Doha tomorrow.
Due to injuries and illnesses, head coach Uros Stevanovic waited until today to announce a 15-player roster for the World Championships (February 5 – 17).
He made two changes to the team that played at the European Championships in Zagreb.
Djordje Vucinic (Novi Beograd), who wasn’t in competition for the team that participated in the ECH because of injury, and young Luka Gladovic (Partizan) are new names on the roster, replacing Marko Radulovic and Vuk Milojevic.
Attacker Gladovic (18) will participate in a big senior competition for the first time. He is one of the three Serbian players who will make their debuts at the World Championships, along with goalkeeper Radoslav Filipovic and defender Petar Jaksic.
Of the 15 players selected, seven were not on the team that won 4th place at the World Championships in Fukuoka in 2023. Last summer, Serbia was without one of its main stars, Dusan Mandic, while Viktor Rasovic was injured. Additionally, center-forward Nemanja Vico, Nikola Lukic and the three debutants didn’t represent Serbia in Fukuoka.
