Leader AZC continues to win in the Dutch league. Close competitors ZV De Zaan and Het Ravijn lost points on Saturday. Polar Bears won twice and the women of the club from Ede also won their game.
AZC once again proved to be the great title candidate. Against ZVL-1886 it was no less than 16-4. In the second and fourth period, the visitors from Leiden did not score at all. ZV De Zaan lost points against PSV. The team of Andreas Miralis did not go further than 9-9 and must be satisfied with that. After all, six minutes before the end, they were still 6-9 behind. Angelo Corver, Mick van den Bree and Phil Brandjes, however, prevented a defeat. Het Ravijn also made a mistake by losing against Polar Bears (8-7). The gap with AZC increased to five points. ZPC Amersfoort made no mistake against De Ham. In Krommenie it became 9-12. As a result, ZPC Amersfoort remains the only team that can keep track of AZC for the time being. Next week they will meet in Alphen aan den Rijn.
The match between Water Polo The Hague and UZSC had a strange score. The Hague surprisingly took a 5-1 lead in the first period. But then UZSC took the initiative. In the end it was 7-13. A day later, Water Polo Den Haag also couldn’t beat Polar Bears (6-12). Thanks to the two victories this weekend, the team from Ede has risen to the seventh place in the ranking. GZC Donk didn’t run into problems against SVH. In Rotterdam it was 13-17 for the team from Gouda.

Women
Leader ZV De Zaan had no mercy on PSV. Without Bente Rogge (who joined ZVL-1886 in the Euro League as a guest player), but with debutants Kirsten Gutter and keeper Amber Lamein it was no less than 22-6. Gutter gave her debut extra shine by scoring twice.
Het Ravijn handed over the game against Polar Bears in the last period. Until then, the visitors had the better of the game and built up a lead to 6-9. In the last period, however, Het Ravijn completely lost it. Polar Bears scored six times in a row to lead to 12-9.Â
GZC Donk had some trouble with De Ham. It didn’t look like that in the first half, but in the two remaining periods De Ham was the better team. However, the home team could not come closer than 7-9.
