Total Player 2019 by Vaterpolo Vesti

Serbian web portal Vaterpolo Vesti has been active for seven years, bringing water polo news from all around the world. They’ve been covering all the important subjects related to water polo, with an emphasized focus on regional matches which they cover in great detail.

This is the third time they’ve joined the Total Player Award.

Francesco-Di-Fulvio

1st – Francesco Di Fulvio

Italian National Player| Club: Pro Recco|Position: Driver

“He is in our list for the third time. Di Fulvio is the world champion with Italy and plays constantly well in Pro Recco. He had another great season with the club until the Champions League Final Eight.”


2nd  – Dusan Mandic

Serbian National Player| Club: Pro Recco|Position: Wing

“Besides Milos Cuk, he is the leader of the young Serbian national team which played at the World Championships. He was picked for the best 7 players of the World Championships. He was brilliant at the World League Final Eight in Belgrade. At F8, he scored one of the most beautiful goals this year. After the 2020 Olympic Games, he will be a leader of the Serbian team.”

3rd – Ante Vukicevic

Croatian National Player| Club: Marseille|Position: Wing

“He had a good season in Marseille, where he won the LEN Euro Cup. Vukičević played excellently at major competitions for national teams this year.”


4th – Gergo Zalanki

Hungarian National Player | Club: Szolnoki/Ferencvarosi| Position: Wing/Centre back 

“Another young player among our picks, who will show his potential in the coming years. Last season, he had a problem with mononucleosis, and this summer he moved to Ferencvaros, the champion of Europe. He was one of the best players at the World Championships.”


5th – Alberto Munarriz 

Spanish National Player| Club: Barceloneta| Position: Defender

“One of the best player of the team which won the silver medal in Gwangju. He will be one of Spain’s key players after the Olympic Games in Tokyo. We remember his outstanding performance in the game against Serbia at the LEN Europa Cup Final Six.”

 “She was amazing at the World Championships.”

2nd – Stephania Haralabidis

USA National Player | Club: NYAC/Vouliagmeni | Position: Attacker

“She was among top 7 players at the World Championships and was Vouliagmeni’s best player in the Euro League, in which her club took the 3rd place.”

3rd – Rita Keszthelyi

Hungarian National Player | Club: UVSE Budapest | Position: Driver/Wing

“Rita was the best scorer and Hungary’s leader at the World Championships” 


4th – Maud Megens

Dutch National Player | Club: USC | Position: Field player 

“Megens won the LEN Europa Cup and was the 2nd best scorer at the World Championships.”

5th – Laura Ester

Spanish National Player | Club: Sabadell | Position: Goalkeeper

“An excellent goalkeeper. She was probably the best goalie at the World Championships and had an amazing season with the club which won the Euro League.”
