Felipe Perrone, one of the icons of modern water polo, had been a leader of the Spanish national team for years.
This year, Perrone, the winner of our Total Player award in 2018, continued a series of great successes with Spain. He lifted the title of the world champion as the captain in Budapest and was voted the MVP of the final match. Two months after, Perrone clinched bronze at the Europeans.
As usual, Perrone was one of the key players in all successes of the national team and Barceloneta, which won 5th place in the Champions League.

1. Alberto Munarriz (ESP)
Spain National Team Player. Club: Barceloneta. Position: Wing
Munarriz missed the first part of the last season due to injury. Still, he recovered, came back and played excellently, contributing significantly to Spain’s and Barceloneta’s results.
2. Alvaro Granados (ESP)
Spain National Team Player. Club: Novi Beograd. Position: Driver.
He played at a high level throughout the clubs’ season and summer. One of Spain’s power engines.
3. Francesco di Fulvio (ITA)
Italian National Team Player. Clubs: Pro Recco. Position: Driver
After an excellent season with Pro Recco, Di Fulvio was Italy’s number 1 at the World and European Championships
4. Gergo Zalanki (HUN)
Hungary National Team Player. Club: Pro Recco. Position: Driver
The best left-handed player in the world this year. He proved his high qualities playing for Pro Recco and won European silver with Hungary, displaying outstanding performances in Split.
