Total Player 2023 by Dusan Mandic

December 17, 2023

Dusan Mandic, a double Olympic champion and the winner of the 2021 Total Player Award, began a new chapter in his career this year.

But his sporting ambitions remain the same and high. Mandic made his debut in the Hungarian League after joining Ferencvaros and has proved that β€œFradi” made a great move by bringing the Serbian left-handed ace, who has won all possible gold medals at major competitions (Olympic Games, World Championships, European Championships, World League and World Cup).

β€œThe players I ranked in the top 5 participated in the Champions League Final Eight and won medals at the World Championships in Fukuoka, with one exception. I also gave a preference to the players who made an exceptional contribution to their teams’ results at the World Championships while winning a medal. It was tough not to pick some players in the top 5.”

+1 Pts | Aleksandar Ivovic (MNE)

Montenegrin player. Club: Pro Recco. Position: Defender

The leader of a club that became the European champion for the third time in a row. Aleksandar Ivovic has been Pro Recco’s β€œtrademark” for more than a decade.

+2 Pts | Stylianos Argyropoulos (GRE)

Greek National Team Player. Club: Ferencvaros. Position: Driver

He displayed a high level in his play in Fukuoka. One of the key players of Greece at the World Championships was Stylianos Argyropoulos.

+3 Pts | Soma Vogel (HUN)

Hungarian National Team Player. Club: Ferencvaros. Position: Goalkeeper

The man who deserved the most credit because Hungary became the world champion. In my opinion, the star of the final game at the World Championships was Soma Vogel.

+4 Pts | Alvaro Granados (ESP)

Spanish National Team Player. Club: Novi Beograd. Position: Driver

The best scorer of the Main Phase of the Champions League, officially the MVP of the Final Eight, the finalist of the Champions League, and the bronze medal winner in Fukuoka.

WP 30+ Masters Tournament

The perfect excuse for an unforgettable vacation.

+5 Pts | Gergo Zalanki (HUN)

Hungarian National Team Player. Club: Pro Recco. Position: Wing

The first place deserves the player who won the Champions League and the gold medal in Fukuoka, being one of the main actors in the finals of both competitions.
