Ioannis Fountoulis, the captain of the Greek national team, remains one of the most recognizable names in Greek water polo. Over the past decade, he has been at the heart of Greece’s greatest achievements, including the Olympic silver medal in Tokyo and multiple World Championship bronze medals.
While this season didn’t bring the expected success for Greece—finishing 5th at all three major competitions—it was still a reminder of the team’s consistency at the top level.
