Greece’s head coach Theodoros Vlachos announced the list of the players who will participate in the preparations for the tournament of Group B of the World Aquatics Water Polo World Cup.
The Greeks play in Podgorica. Besides the bronze medalists from the 2022 World Championships and the Olympic silver medalists, the national teams of Spain, Serbia, Montenegro, Australia, and Georgia will battle for three tickets for the Final tournament. The Final Eight will be held in Los Angeles at the University of Southern California campus (June 30 – July 2).
There are no surprises. All 15 players that represented Greece at the previous major competition, the European Championships in Split, are among the candidates for the team.
Vlachos couldn’t count on goalkeeper Zerdevas and Fountoulis in Split because they were injured. However, the injuries are the past for the two players, and they are ready for new challenges now.
