As day three of the Women’s Euro League qualification round reaches the half-way point, the two Italian clubs, Roma and Padova, have secured qualification to the next round. Dynamo Uralochka are also nearly there with victory over Terrassa earlier.
Group A
Dynamo Uralochka remain undefeated in Group A after coming from behind to defeat Terrassa. In a gritty performance from the Russians, Maria Bersneva scored four in the match, while there were additional braces for Panfilova, Zaplatina and Sharafutdinova. The fixture between Terrassa and Glyfada tomorrow now looks to be the deciding match-up for that third qualifying spot.
The reason why that game between Terrassa and Glyfada is so significant is because the Greeks just claimed three big points against CSS Verona. One of Europe’s most exciting prospects, Eirini Ninou, stepped up and scored 4 in the game, as did Eleftheria Fountontou. CSS’s Russian,Elizaveta Ivanova, netted on 6 occasions, but it wasn’t enough to secure the points.
