The Budapest-derby Vasas – Honved was the highlight of the 3rd round of the Hungarian League.
The rivals shared the points – 6:6. Honved was four goals down early in the third quarter, and trailed by two in the fourth period, but it managed to secure a point.

Vasas beat Honved convincingly twice in the Hungarian Cup last week (11:5 and 13:4). The league match between these two clubs was similar to the previous two games, but only until the middle of the third period. Vasas dictated the pace until the middle of the third quarter. The hosts, led by Drasko Brguljan, earned a 6:2 advantage early in the third quarter. But, it should be mentioned that Honved played with five players in the field between the 7th and 11th minute, because Honved’s Gregor was excluded for a brutality foul.
In the middle of the third period, Honved started coming back, scored four goals in three minutes and leveled at 6:6. Still, Vasas retook control in the fourth quarter and built a 2-goal lead (8:6 and 9:7). Honved managed to catch up with the rival – Fejos found the net for 9:9 with 01:55 minutes to go. After that, there were no goals and the match ended with no winner.
Ferencvaros dominated the first half of the game against Eger. “Fradi” had a 9:3 lead at halftime. Luca Damonte opened the third quarter with two goals to stretch the margin to eight (11:3) and Ferencvaros secured the three points.
After a 4:4 first half, the game Szeged – Szentes turned into a one-sided contest, and Szeged achieved a 13:6 victory.
Szolnok recorded three wins over Kaposvar in ten days. Last week, the reigning champion defeated Kaposvar 13:8 and 12:6 in the Hungarian Cup eighth-finals. Szolnok left no chance to Kaposvar in the 3rd round of the league. Szolnok earned a 9:3 lead early in the third period. The hosts had an 8-goal advantage (14:6) in the fourth quarter before Kaposvar reduced the gap.
DVSE and PVSK faced off in Debrecen. After a 1:1 first quarter, the hosts earned a 2:1 lead in the 9th minute. But, they couldn’t find the net in the next 15 minutes, while PVSK scored five goals and went to 6:2 which proved crucial for the outcome.
