The visiting teams achieved victories in four out of five matches in Round 3 of the Hungarian League that took place this weekend.
The most exciting match was held in the indoor pool of the famous Alfred Hajos Sports Center on Margaret Island, where UVSE hosted Vasas. Just three days prior, Vasas suffered a narrow loss to Radnicki in the Champions League, despite leading for almost three quarters of that encounter. The game against UVSE unfolded quite differently for Vasas. UVSE led for most of the game, but Vasas eventually won.
UVSE was ahead by three goals on several occasions. At one point, the young home team was up 13:10 early in the fourth quarter.
Vasas then rallied, scoring four consecutive goals to take the lead for the first time at 14:13 with 94 seconds to go. UVSE managed to equalize at 14:14. However, with just 55 seconds left, Szalai scored to give Vasas a 15:14 lead and set the final score. Bogdan Djurdjic played a key role in Vasas’s victory, contributing five goals, while Peter Szalai added four.
Honved recorded its fourth win in the league by beating Kaposvar with a score of 17:13, thanks to five goals each from Lazar Vickovic and Nikola Moskov.
BVSC outperformed Miskolc, starting explosively with a 5:0 lead. Although Miskolc managed to tie the game at 6:6 late in the second quarter, BVSC regained a five-goal advantage, ending the game at 14:9.
The only home team to secure points was Szeged, which defeated OSC Budapest 10:7.
