The leading quarter, Ferencvaros, OSC Budapest, Vasas and Szolnok, recorded wins in the 21st round of the Hungarian League.
Only Vasas had a demanding task in this round. Vasas played against Honved in the big Budapest derby. Honved, the home team in this match, was a better rival in the first half. It had a 3-goal lead, but Vasas produced a comeback and collected three points with a 9:8 victory.

The game Honved – Vasas was similar to the derby OSC – Honved played three days ago. Honved opened the match better than the rival, but it couldn’t keep the same rhythm throughout the game. Honved took a flying start. The home side earned a 3:0 lead in the first quarter. Honved maintained a 3-goal advantage until the middle of the second quarter (5:2). By the middle break, the visitors cut the deficit to one (4:5). The man of the match, Akos Konarik, leveled at 5:5 in the 17th minute. Still, Hosnyanszky put Honved in front immediately after (6:5). Vasas replied with two goals. Selley Rauscher converted a man-up in the 23rd minute, and the visiting team earned its first lead – 7:6. In the first three minutes of the fourth quarter, Honved equalized twice (7:7 and 8:8). Still, the hosts had no response after Sedlmayer scored an action goal for 9:8. It happened five minutes and a half before the end. Nobody scored a goal in the remaining time, so Vasas kept a slim win and three points.
After a surprising home loss to Miskolc on Wednesday, Eger bounced back and beat Szeged 14:12. The home team dictated the pace in the first half and entered the third period leading 8:5. Deep into the third quarter, Eger leveled at 9:9. Szeged regained a lead before the last quarter (10:9). It doubled the advantage with a power play goal in the 25th minute (11:9). However than Eger took control. It held the home side goalless for almost eight minutes while it scored five unanswered goals and took a 14:11 lead. The hosts’ last goal, for the final score, came eight seconds before the end.
Ferencvaros, with several teenagers on the roster, beat UVSE with ease (15:7). Szolnok didn’t have a demanding task in the match against PVSK. BVSC demolished Miskolc (12:4). OSC Budapest earned an away win over Kaposvar. OSC dominated in the first two quarters and a half. In the middle of the third period, OSC led 10:3. After that, Kaposvar couldn’t come back and OSC recorded a 14:10 victory.
KSI recorded its first win in the season by beating Szentes. There were a few twists and turns during the first three quarters. Before the final period, the teams were tied at 8:8. KSI netted three consecutive goals in the fourth quarter, and jumped to 11:8. After that, Szentes scored just a consolation goal. KSI moved to 13th place, while Szentes is at the bottom of the table after this loss.
