The President of Pro Recco, Maurizio Felugo, announced the arrival of Vincenzo Renzuto Iodice! Born in Naples on April 8, 1993, he’s an attacker who played the last season with Croatia’s Jug Dubrovnik. With Jug, he won the Championship, the Croatian trophy, and the Adriatic League.
Renzuto was raised in Posillipo, with which he won the LEN Euro Cup in 2015, and now he’s focused on bigger clubs. From the training camp in Italy, while preparing for the Mediterranean Games in Tarragona, Renzuto expresses his joy for coming to the Italian champions:
“Pro Recco is the most successful team in the world. I’m glad I joined their every-year fight for winning all the titles. Also, I think Pro Recco has the best players, so it’s an honor for me to get into this team. My Settebello’s team-mates at Recco told me that, besides being a very strong team full of champions, they’re a real family.”
Joining his former captain — Marko Bijac
In the team, Renzuto will also play with Marko Bijac, his former captain at Jug: “He’s a very strong goalkeeper, but he’s also a very good person and an exemplary athlete. We have a great relationship and I’m happy we’ll play together again.”
Now dedicated to Rudic, his further development opportunities arose. Renzuto commented on having him as a coach: “It will be a great honor to be coached by Ratko Rudic, who is considered the best in the history of water polo. I hope to learn as much as I can from him.”
