While much focus was on Greece, and Piraeus, for the LEN Super Cup final between Olympiacos and Ethnikos, there were four games played in the domestic league.
Both Vouliagmeni and Glyfada cruised to victories, with their respective star players each scoring seven goals: Eleni Elliniadi struck seven for Vouliagmeni in their 14-7 victory over Alimos, and Eirini Ninou bagged seven for Glyfada in their 16-7 victory over Rethymnou.
Elsewhere, Patra came from behind to defeat Larissa (11-10) with a game-winning goal in the final minute. AEK secured their first win of the season, with a deserved 10-6 victory over Peristeri.
The next full matchday in the league takes place in 2023.

Alimos have lost their second consecutive A1 match, falling to the formidable Nautical Club of Vouliagmeni by a score of 14-7.
Ultimately, Kiki Liosi’s team stormed to a 10-1 lead, but the result does not reflect the magnitude of the gap between the two sides.
Again, Eleni Elliniadi was too much for Alimos, as she scored seven goals against them. The Greek international, and one of the league’s form players, netted seven goals against Alimos in the SEDY Cup in the Autumn, a game in which Vouliagmeni won 12-6. It’s the second time Elliniadi has scored seven goals in the league this season, with Vouliagmeni’s top goal-scoring bagging the same number of goals against Panionios, also in a 14-7 win.
Alimos stay second in the league, two points ahead of Vouliagmeni, who have played a game less.

A late goal from Maria Dassiou, just 53 seconds from time, gave Patra a dramatic fifth win of the season over Larissa.
Two minutes into the game, Larissa held a one-goal lead, but Dionysia Koureta tied the score at 10 before Dassiou scored her hat trick to seal a victory for Michalis Lazaridis’ squad, which now sits seventh in the league with the same number of points as Panionios.

Fresh off the back of their Champions League heroics in Budapest last weekend, Glyfada had a straight-forward assignment against Rethymnou, defeating the team at the bottom of the league, 16-7.
Just like Elleniadi for Vouliagmeni, Eirini Ninou was the standout player in the match, scoring seven times for Thodoris Andreakos’ team. Eleftheria Foundotou has been recalled to the Greek national team following another outstanding performance in which she scored three goals.
Glyfada have won six of their last seven games, with their only loss coming against Olympiacos last weekend.
