Last weekend, only three games of the German League were held, but this was a busy weekend, as the German Cup was continued with the quarterfinals.

Waspo Hannover, led by Russian Ivan Nagaev, who netted eight goals, demolished Neukolln Berlin – 20:12. Waspo had a 12-goal lead (20:8) in the middle of the fourth quarter. But, Neukolln reduced the gap with four goals in the finish of the game. Neukolln’s goalkeeper Finn Dorries scored the last goal in the match.
Waspo’s “younger brother”, the club White Sharks hosted ASC Duisburg. The Sharks opened the game with a 3:0 rush and had a 4:1 advantage after the first period. ASC Duisburg answered with four goals in a row and went ahead (5:4), but the hosts equalized before the middle break – 5:5. ASC Duisburg netted the first three goals in the third period (8:5), and that proved vital for their win.
OSC Potsdam convincingly defeated Ludwigsburg 16:9.

German Cup, quarterfinals
On Sunday, all four games of the quarterfinals of the German Cup were played. Favorites – Spandau 04, Waspo Hannover, ASC Duisburg and OSC Potsdam – passed their hurdles with ease.
Waspo Hannover trashed Poseidon Hamburg 19:9, which means that it scored 39 goals in two days. Ivan Nagaev again was the top scorer. He found Poseidon’s net seven times.
