During the 35th LEN European Water Polo Championships, the Faculty of Kinesiology of the University of Split will organize a large international conference about science and medicine in aquatic sports.
The “International Conference on Science and Medicine in Aquatic Sports” (SMAS) will be held between September 1 and 4. Besides the Faculty, the co-organizers are LEN and the Croatian Water Polo Federation.
From a sporting point of view, the highlight of the Conference will be the “Water Polo Experts Chat”, scheduled for September 3 at the University of Split, Rudjera Boskovica street, 31.
It will be a round-table discussion with the participation of some big water polo names. Total Waterpolo will also take part in the debate.
In the opening part of the discussion, four famous coaches and former players – Elvis Fatovic, Arno Havenga, Igor Milanovic, and Ratko Rudic will speak.
Milanovic will talk about the technics in top water polo. Fatovic’s exposure will be about the tactical preparations in water polo. Havenga will present the development of water polo in The Netherlands. They will discuss with Rudic and other registered participants all topics.
In the second part of the “Water Polo Experts Chat”, players, referees, and two water polo portals will discuss questions based on thematic content with the four speakers.
Some of the participants already sent their questions. Felipe Perrone is interested in mentally preparations, and Maro Jokovic in the rules. Aaron Younger wants to find out the experts’ opinions about the management in water polo. Ivica Tucak asked about the large number of games per year.
Besides the four mentioned, Andrija Prlainovic, Alessandro Campagna, Dejan Udovicic, David Martin, referees Boris Margeta and Georgios Stavridis, and two water polo portals -Total Waterpolo, an Australian Academy Waterpolo, will discuss the topics related to the development of water polo.
