Just a week after the end of the 18th FINA World Championships in Gwangju, there is again a lot of water polo action at the Nambu University Grounds.
The FINA World Water Polo Masters Championships has started in Gwangju today!
Since 2015, the masters competition has been held jointly with the FINA World Championships, several days after seniors have gone home.
This year, 39 water polo teams take part (33 in men’s and 6 in women’s competition)
The female sides compete in one group, while the male squads are split into 7 age groups. All teams are playing round-robin tournaments. The medal matches will be staged in women’s competition and two men’s age groups (50+ and 60+).
As usual, results and medals aren’t the most important at competitions like the Masters championships but friendship and entertainment. However, everybody like winning…
