There were only the two games played on the fourth day of the Women’s under-19 European Championships in Netanya, with two easy wins for Spain and Israel against Romania and Turkey respectively.
With both teams winning today, the showdown for top spot in the group will be tomorrow evening, as the unbeaten sides, Spain and Israel, face-off at 19:00 local time.
Group A
Spain were grateful for a straightforward run-out against Romania today, winning 19-4.
Ignasi Vidal’s team rushed to a 5-0 lead after eight minutes, with scores from Paula Prats (2) and Claudia Moreno (2) – as well as a score from her sister, Daniela.
Romania reacted well to trailing by five goals in the second period, with Romania’s top player, Alina-Ioana Olteanu, inspiring her side to win the quarter, putting the score at 7-4.
However, the Spanish could turn it on as and when they needed, and with a ruthless 3rd and 4th quarter, won the second half 12-0.
Five of the Spanish goals came from players of CE Mediterrani (Ana Marcos 2, Paula Prats 2 and Alba Munoz 1), while Elisa Portillo and Giorgia Gallinato (CD Boadilla) both took home braces.

Israel had no problem brushing aside Turkey in the second game of the day.
Dar Menakerman added another four goals to her tournament tally, taking her up to eleven for the week, while Noga Levinshtein also grabbed a quad.
The other scorers for the Israeli’s were Tahel (3), Yaacobi (3), Ofir (2) and Vashdi (2).
