The fourth day of the European qualifications for the Womenβs World League Super Final brought two derbies. The home teams celebrated wins in both games. Hungary defeated Netherlands12:7 in Szentes, while Russia beat Greece 12:9 in the game played in Kirishi.
In the third match of the day, Italy, as expected, bettered the French in Montreuil.

Hungary grabbed three points in the match against the Netherlands and climbed into 1st place in the group, with two points, but also with a match more than Spain.
Hungary took a flying start and jumped to a 4:1 lead early in the second period. But, the Dutch caught the hosts before the middle break. The sides were tied (4:4) before the third quarter. The Dutch their last goal scored in the 22nd minute when Keuning cut the deficit (7:8). The home team kept the Dutch goalless in the last ten minutes, while it scored four goals for a 12:7 victory.
This was Hungary’s second consecutive win over the Netherlands. A month ago, the Hungarians defeated the Dutch 10:8 in the bronze-medal match at the European Championships in Budapest.
Russia broke Greece in the middle of the game in Kirishi. The visitors had a slim 2:1 advantage at the first break. Russia took control in the second quarter. 19 seconds before the end of the third, the hosts earned a 10:6 advantage and after that their win wasnβt in danger.
France kept up with Italy for a quarter and a half. In the middle of the second period, the hosts trailed by a goal (4:5). Then, the βSetterossaβ produced a 3:0 rush for an 8:4 lead (17th minute). The French came near in the 20th minute (6:8). However, Italy regained a 4-goal lead early in the fourth period (10:8), and the hosts couldnβt come back.
