Earlier this week, Panagiotis Tzortzatos announced he would be leaving Vouliagmeni, but he remained tight-lipped about his next destination.
However, this morning, it seems there is only one option for the 32-year-old Greek international. You guessed it: Olympiacos.
Tzortzatos has spent five years at the Nautical Club, with the highlight being last season's unexpected 4th place finish for Vouliagmeni. For the national team, he has twice medalled at World Championships—bronze in Budapest in 2022, and silver in Fukuoka in 2023.
The potential signing of Panagiotis Tzortzatos presents a strange dilemma for the Red-Whites, who already have two outstanding goalkeepers: Croatian Marko Bijac and Greece's first-choice shot-stopper Manuel Zerdevas.
If the Tzortzatos signing goes through, Olympiacos is unlikely to keep all three, raising the question of who the club will retain. Bijac is very much Hrvoje Koljanin's Champions League keeper, while Zerdevas leads the way domestically. Where does Tzortzatos fit in?
