A big turn happened in HAVK Mladost. Ivan Marcelic, Croatia’s goalkeeper, stays in the club, although he was very close to moving to Noisy-le-Sec (France).
A few days ago, he said that he would probably leave Mladost and accept Noisy’s offer. Still, Marcelic (26) decided to stay in the club. He has been playing for Mladost since the beginning of his career and he will stay in the Zagreb-based club for two more years, at least.
Marcelic had a lot of successes as a goalkeeper of the junior national team of Croatia. A few years ago, he debuted for the senior national team, and so far, he has collected the gold medal at the 2017 World Championships and two bronzes (the 2019 Worlds and the 2018 Europeans).
This news might be an indication that Mladost can overcome its troubles. But, it’s yet to be seen how many players will leave. Josip Vrlic, Milos Cuk, Alex Bowen are close to the exit.
