The fifth round of the Serbian League was opened by an exciting derby Crvena Zvezda – Radnicki (9:9), on Thursday.
The other matches, played on the weekend, were one-sided contests. Favorites recorded big wins.

Novi Beograd became the first team to score 100 goals in the 2023 Serbian League. The title-holder easily beat Valis in Valjevo 20:8. After five games, Novi Beograd’s goal difference is 102:38. The reigning champion has the best attack and the best defense in the league, despite the fact that it conceded 15 goals in a loss to Radnicki (14:15) in the 2nd round.
Partizan, which is still without the injured center forward Paparic, earned an away victory over NBG Vukovi. Both teams started slowly. It stood 1:1 at the first break. But, Partizan, led by Dimitrijevic and Smiljevic, dominated the middle two quarters, scoring 10 and conceding only three goals. The visitors built an 11:4 lead and relaxed in the final period.
An encounter between Sabac and Vojvodina was quite interesting in the first three periods. Sabac had a 9:7 advantage before the final eight minutes. But the hosts scored six unanswered goals in the fourth quarter and proved who the favorite was.
Proleter earned the first points, beating Nais easier than expected.
