Spandau Berlin continued its series of big wins in the German Championships in 2023.
Spandau played two games in three days and scored a total of 47 goals. The Berliners improved their incredible goal difference with those big wins.

On Friday, Spandau hosted 2nd-placed ASC Duisburg. It was a rescheduled match of the 13th round. ASC Duisburg was without a few key players and had only ten players on the roster. The Berliners showed no mercy. They stormed to an 8:0 lead. At halftime, they had a 10:1 advantage. The favorite stopped at 23. Spandau won 23:6. As usual, captain Dimitri Kholod was one of the best scorers with five goals. Yannek Chiru found the net five times, as well.
Spandau taught a lesson to White Sharks Hannover in the ninth round, beating the hosts by 17 goals – 24:7. Kholod netted five goals again. Luca Marziali had the same output.
This season, Spandau’s average is 22,5 goals per match in the German Championships. The Berliners’ goal difference after ten rounds is +171! They have scored 225 and conceded 54 goals.
The other German club in the Champions League, Waspo Hannover, scored “only” 155 goals in nine games (155:59). Besides the two clubs, only ASC Duisburg has a positive goal difference at the moment (136:123). ASC played ten games, as well as Spandau.
A day after a loss to Spandau, ASC Duisburg faced the other club from the capital – Neukolln Berlin. Duisburg played with a 12-player roster. In the middle of the third period, ASC Duisburg built a nine-goal advantage (12:3). After that, the visitors slowed, and Neukolln narrowed the margin to five (11:16).
Waspo Hannover beat Esslingen with ease (18:6).
The most interesting match of the day was an encounter between Ludwigsburg and OSC Potsdam. The teams were in a neck-and-neck race. Midway through the game, OSC took the lead (5:4 and 6:5). Still, Ludwigsburg netted three goals in a row for an 8:6 advantage. The teams traded the goals in the remaining time, and Ludwigsburg kept a 2-goal distance (11:9).
