Waspo 98 Hannover is the first team to qualify for the final of the German Championships.
The reigning champion beat ASC Duisburg in the first two games of the semifinals (10:4 and 16:9) and secured itself a spot in the series of the games for the title.
Waspo’s rival will probably be Spandau 04. The Berliners ran over White Sharks in the first match (26:5). The next game will be played next weekend.

ASC Duisburg beat Waspo 98 Hannover twice in the regular season. It finished in 2nd place and secured a home-field advantage in the second and the eventual third match.
But, Waspo dominated in the first two games, and the series ended after two encounters.
Waspo’s defense in the first game in Hannover was superb. The hosts kept Duisburg goalless until the middle of the second quarter and opened the game with a 4:0 lead. Duisburg halved the distance (3:5), but Waspo, led by captain Aleksandar Radovic, produced a new 4:0 run, went to 9:3 and maintained the difference until the end (10:4).
The second game, played in Duisburg, was similar. Hannover’s excellent start set the tone of the match. Waspo built a 7:1 lead in the first quarter and a half. Deep into the third period, the visitors had a 9-goal advantage (12:3) and there was no way back for Duisburg.
As expected, Spandau 04 was too strong for White Sharks in Hannover and beat the hosts by 19 goals (26:5). Only a miracle can prevent Spandau from reaching the final.

OSC Potsdam advanced to the 5th-place games with two victories against Neukolln. OSC will find out its rival next weekend after the end of the series of matches between Ludwigsburg and Krefeld. Ludwigsburg opened the series with a convincing victory.
