Veteran Pietro Figlioli, who will turn 39 this year, will probably say “goodbye” to Pro Recco after the Final Eight in Belgrade.
The experienced born in Brazil, who played for Australia and Italy, doesn’t intend to retire yet, but, as things stand now, he won’t stay at Recco and will move to Savona.
Figlioli played for Recco on several occasions. Last year, he won his 6th Champions League with Recco 2007, 2010, 2012, 2015, 2021, and 2022 (Figlioli was part of the winning 13 five times - he missed the 2012 Final Four). He won LEN Euro Cup playing for Barcelona.
The attacker, who was a member of Sori, Brescia, Sport Management,etc, has two Olympic medals in his treasury (silver from London and bronze from Rio de Janeiro), two titles of the world champion (2011 and 2019), two medals from the European Championships (silver and bronze). He played at the Olympic Games five times (twice for Australia and three times for Brazil) and retired from the Italian national team after the Tokyo Olympics.
