Dusan Mandic earlier today announced officially that he would be leaving Novi Beograd. This afternoon, a second left-hander has also left the club.
Nika Shushiasvili is embarking on a new journey to Greece, where he will join the ranks of the LEN Challenger Cup Champions, Apollon Smyrnis. The 24-year-old Georgian International concludes his three-year tenure in the Serbian capital.
Shushiashvili, a rising star, has crammed a lot in his relatively short career. As a teenager, he moved to play for Sabac in Serbia in 2017, later transferring to Spandau Berlin in the German capital. However, due to limited playing opportunities, the left-hander decided to return to his home country and play for Dinamo Tblisi before eventually joining Beograd in 2020.
In the previous season, Shushiashvili contributed significantly to the success of his national team in international competitions, notably securing a commendable 10th place at the World Championships in Budapest and an impressive eighth place finish at the European Championships in Split.
