Olympiacos has officially announced the appointment of Dimitris Kravaritis as the new head coach of their women's team.
The 51-year-old, who spent the majority of his playing career with Olympiacos, returns to the Red-Whites to lead the women's team, taking over from Aleksandar Ciric, the former coach of one of the most dominant teams of the 21st century, guiding the Red-Whites to an unprecedented quadruple.
Kravaritis had been associated with Olympiacos in various roles, particularly in the Academies, until 2017. He also served as a trusted colleague of Theodoros Vlachos and was the assistant coach for the Greek national men's team that won an Olympic bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
Expressing his gratitude on the Olympiacos website, Kravaritis said,
"I am truly delighted and grateful. I extend my thanks to the president for his trust, and I am fully committed to maintaining Olympiacos' position at the highest level. Olympiacos has consistently been the leading women's polo team in recent years, achieving remarkable milestones and making history. I aim to continue in this trajectory. My bond with Olympiacos runs deep as I have been associated with the club since the age of eight, starting from the wet track of Olympiacos and assuming various roles over the years. This new challenge excites me greatly, and I eagerly anticipate working with the team and commencing our journey together."
Olympiacos has had a big overhaul this summer, with Hrvoje Koljanin taking over as the men's head coach, replacing the departing Igor Milanovic.
