Following Dusan Mandic’s announcement on his Instagram profile about being expelled from the Novi Beograd team, the coaching staff and squad have undergone some new changes!
A few days ago, Dusan Mandic was suspended from the team until further notice. Today, he addressed the public with a lengthy statement, highlighting that he still hasn’t received any explanation from the club as to why such a decision was made. He expressed his dissatisfaction with the way Novi Beograd treats him.
His post was shared and supported by many of Mandic’s former and current (!) teammates, which is another proof of the bad atmosphere and strained relationships in the club. All of this was a sign of alarm in the club’s management, and its founder Aleksandar Sapic called an emergency meeting with his closest associates.
As we have learned from reliable sources, after more than two hours of heated discussion, in which Sapic (once again) lectured everyone on the love for our sport and club, a unanimous decision was made that the new player-coach and captain of Novi Beograd is Aleksandar Sapic!
It remains to be seen whether he will continue with the bombshell of kicking out players and take his junior team in their quest for the European crown, or will he stick to the values he advocates.
One thing is for sure, we can expect a spectacle tonight against Partizan.
