Croatia’s left-handed goal-getter Maro Jokovic, returned to the team after he missed the Champions League qualifications due to an injury. Jokovic contributed to the win with one goal.
Ortigia controlled the Sicilian derby from the beginning. The visitors had a nice 4-goal lead (6:2) at halftime. But, the hosts were able to come back. Telimar tightened up its defense after the middle break and halved the deficit before the last quarter (4:6). Telimar held Ortigia goalless for more than 12 minutes. Finally, Ortigia’s Stefano Rossi broke the silence in the 29th minute, for 7:4. Shortly after that, Ferrero found the net for 5:7, but the hosts couldn’t go further. Vidovic hit the back of the net for the final score – Ortigia won 8:5.
Posillipo earned its second win in the 2020/21 national championships. The Naples-based side traveled to Milan and faced Metanopoli, the debutant in the Serie A1.
