Similar to the first match, Chus Martín and his team managed to win against Terrassa. With the 4:8 result in yesterday’s game, they continue to reign firmly in the Spanish League, reaching their 13th consecutive and 18th overall title.
The match started with much respect between the two teams. The playing rhythm was fast, but no ball ended up inside the nets in the first quarter. Goalies Iñaki Aguilar and Dani López Pinedo together with their teammates defended remarkably. After a fast-paced first eight minutes, the score remained 0:0.
The second quarter saw the players making progress throughout the pool. It started with Felipe Perrone’s penalty, continuing with a quick answer from Fran Sánchezm for 1:1. Then Munárriz netted for 1:2, but Sanahuja answered with an unstoppable blast for Lopez-Pinedo. Josip Vrlic outplayed the opponents to 2:3, opening the long break with a lead.
After the break, a deafening atmosphere set foot in the Olympic Arena. The filled venue cheered when Sergi Mora opened the third quarter, but Tahull returned the advantage to the sailors (3:4). Before the end of the quarter, Larumbe executed a counterattack commanded by Fran Fernández, scoring for 4:5.
In the final quarter, Barceloneta showed their opponents what are they capable of. Chus Martin’s team scored two goals right at the start with Martin Famera and Marc Larumbe as the shooters. A short time before the end of the match, Álex Bustos ended the match, with Barceloneta winning yet another PREMAAT Men’s League title.
