Elena Ruiz has signed for Sant Andreu from the reigning European and Spanish Champions, Astralpool Sabadell.
The eighteen-year-old superstar spent only a single season at Can Llong but won four major titles, including the inaugural Women's Champions League, the Spanish Championships, the Copa de la Reina, and the Copa Catalunya.
Ruiz broke onto the scene in 2021, finishing at the Spanish leagues top goal scorer and setting the Tokyo Olympics alight - ultimately winning silver with the Spanish national team. Elena now joins forces with her older sister, Ariadna, who signed a three-year contract with the club earlier this summer. Both started their careers at CN Rubi, their childhood clubs.
While the club will bid farewell to many players this summer, including captain Noelia Mora and three foreigners—Tara Prentice, Elyse Lemay-Lavoie, and Hayley Ballesty—their recruitment is looking ambitious, targeting Spanish internationals Paula Crespi and Nona Perez.
