While the world focuses on the Olympic Games, Jadran Herceg Novi is busy making summer signings.
This week, they confirmed the acquisition of three top-class players: Aleksandar Ivovic, Djorde Lazic, and Dimitrije Obradovic.
The headline signing is Aleksandar Ivovic, who returns to the club where he began his career. Considered one of the greatest players of all time, the 38-year-old leaves Pro Recco after a thirteen-year stint (2010-2012 and 2013-2024) with the Italian giants, during which he clinched five Champions League titles, eleven Italian league titles, and ten Coppa Italias.
Ivovic's international career, though less decorated than his club achievements, saw him as a key member of the Montenegrin team that was crowned European Champion in 2008, and he also earned a silver medal at the 2013 World Championships.
Jadran Herceg Novi has also secured the signing of Serbian center-forward Djorde Lazic.
The 28-year-old Olympic champion from Tokyo 2020 was expected to join Novi Beograd for much of the summer, but he opted instead for the 12-time champions of Montenegro.
Lazic, a Belgrade-born player who started his career at Partizan (winning four national championships), joined Szolnok in 2018 and played two seasons in Hungary. Since 2020, he has continued to make a name for himself at Brescia, winning the Italian league in his first season in Italy. This season, he was part of the Brescia side that stunned Pro Recco to lift the Coppa Italia.
Jadran has also re-signed former Montenegrin international Dimitrije Obradovic. The 29-year-old returns to his boyhood club after spells at Partizan, Crvena Zvezda, Roma, Trieste, and Valis. With the national team of Montenegro, Obradovic won a bronze medal at the European Championship in Budapest in 2020 and a gold medal at the World League in Georgia in 2021.
Vuk Milojević is another addtion to the Montenegrin team. The right-sided player, born on September 14, 2002, joins from Red Star Belgrade, where he secured two Serbian Cup titles. Milojević has also represented Serbia on the international stage, competing in the World Championship in Fukuoka and the European Championship in Zagreb.
