Ferencvaros recorded a hard-fought win over Honved (6:5) in the postponed game of the Hungarian Championships Round 17.
A piece of information that will make Ferencvaros’ fans and all water polo lovers happy is that Denes Varga recovered and played his first match after a break that lasted more than a month. Moreover, he scored the winner for the “Fradi “in the low-scoring encounter.

Last week, before the match against Barceloneta, Varga explained the reasons for his absence. In the meantime, he recovered enough to be ready for today’s game.
The duel was an even contest. Fejos gave Honved an early 1:0 lead. Vamos equalized immediately from a penalty shot. In the middle of the first period, Varga scored an action goal for 2:1. The visitors leveled before the first break, and they had a 4:3 advantage at halftime.
Ferencvaros’ Nemet scored the only goal in the third period for 4:4. In the 26th minute, Decker put Honved ahead (5:4), and the drama continued. Two minutes after, Szilard Jansik leveled at 5:5. Denes Varga netted a fine action goal with 80 seconds left on the clock for the final score and Ferencvaros’ victory.
