The four teams that are in the higher half in the standings of the German League recorded convincing wins in the 8th round.
Spandau 04 extended its winning streak with a 22:7 win over Ludwigsburg. ASC Duisburg, Waspo 98 Hannover and White Sharks Hannover beat their rivals with no big problems.

The league leader, Spandau 04, showed no mercy to Ludwigsburg. The Berliners’ defense didn’t shine in the first half, but the attack was up to the task. At the middle break, it stood 11:5. Spandau added 11 goals in the second half, conceding two, for a 22:7 victory. Captain Dmitri Kholod found the net six times.
ASC Duisburg beat Esslingen. ASC is still without one of the best scorers, injured Djordje Tanaskovic, and the key to success was a good defensive play. But, the visitors needed some time to find their rhythm. At the beginning of the second quarter, Esslingen led 3:1. However, ASC took control and produced a 12:0 series for a huge 13:3 advantage (30th minute). In the remaining time, both sides scored a goal apiece.
OSC Potsdam started bravely in the match with Waspo 98 Hannover. The hosts led in the opening minutes (1:0, 2:1, 3:2). After the hosts’ third goal, Waspo netted four in a row and went to 6:3. Potsdam managed to cut the deficit (5:6), but Waspo, led by Hrvoje Benic and captain Aleksandar Radovic built a 9:5 lead early in the third quarter and never looked back.
The narrowest margin in this round was five goals. White Sharks Hannover defeated Neukolln, which kept up with White Sharks as much as possible. Neukolln trailed 6:8 at the finish of the third period. Still, White Sharks didn’t let surprise and recorded a comfortable 12:7 victory.
The League will continue in three weeks. Meanwhile, the matches of the German Cup will be staged.
