An hour after the end of the game Novi Beograd – Nais, reigning champion Radnicki and Zemun faced off in the same pool (SC “11. April”). Radnicki trounced the host, with seven goals by Marko Radulovic, the MVP of the World U20 Championships in Prague.
Crvena Zvezda, which will start in the Champions League Qualifications tomorrow, had a demanding task in the first round. Crvena Zvezda hosted Vojvodina, which played in the LEN Euro Cup last week. The visitors from Novi Sad took an early 1:0 lead. Crvena Zvezda built a 5:2 advantage in the second period. Still, the visitors equalized in the third quarter (5:5). Zvezda responded with two goals (7:5). The rest of the game was a balanced battle, and Crvena Zvezda maintained a 2-goal difference. Gavril Subotic was the best scorer in the winning team (3 goals), Nikola Bursac netted five for Vojvodina.
Valis defeated Proleter in an encounter between two newcomers. The game Partizan-Sabac has been postponed because Sabac went to Sicily to play in the LEN Euro Cup Qualification Round 2.
Croatian League, Day 1
Zadar 1952 – Solaris 11:18 (5:4, 3:4, 1:4, 2:6)
The first round of the Croatian Championship has been completed. Solaris, which successfully started in the LEN Euro Cup, defeated Zadar convincingly in the last match of Day 1. The other games were played last weekend.
