The biggest transfer deal of the summer is here; Alvaro Granados has signed for Pro Recco.
At 25, the Spaniard, celebrated for his decisive role in Spain's victorious 2024 European Championship campaign, is confirmed as the Italian powerhouse's first summer signing.
Both player, and his new club, had a disapointing Champions League Final 4 in Malta. But now together, they are both destined for great things in the 2024-2025 season.
Granados, whose career took off at Barceloneta, made his debut on the national team at the tender age of 17. By 2022, after securing five consecutive Spanish League and Cup doubles, he played a crucial role in the Spanish National Team's triumph at the World Championship in Budapest. That summer, Granados transferred to Serbian powerhouse Novi Beograd, establishing himself as one of the world's most formidable strikers.
Recently, he etched his name into the NBG's history as its all-time leading goal scorer, netting 227 goals in a mere 82 games, averaging 2.7 goals per match. His biggest coup at the club to date is his jaw-dropping ten-goal performance against Crvena Zvezda in the national championship play-offs to lead NBG to its second Serbia title. For the past two seasons, Granados has been the Champions League's top goal-scorer.
Granadod becomes the fourth Spaniard to wear the light blue cap of the world's most decorated club, following in the footsteps of Felipe Perrone, Guillermo Molina, and Jesus Rollan.
