Jadran Split's squad could soon boast an eighth World Champion.
Ante Vukicevic is poised to play in Croatia next season, not with his former teams, Primorje EB or Mladost, but with the reigning champions, Jadran Split.
The 31-year-old Croatian international, who has been crowned a World Champion twice, is set to return to Croatia to join the nation's top team after a fruitful seven-season stint with the French club CN Marseille.
During his tenure in France, Vukicevic claimed three national titles, three French Cups, and a Euro Cup in the 2018-19 season.
A consistent presence in the Croatian national team since 2017, Vukicevic missed the 2022 European Championships, which Croatia won, due to health issues. However, he represented his country at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games and aims to compete again in Paris this summer.
Vukicevic is not the only foreign player likely to depart from the South of France this summer; Krisztian Manhercz will certainly be an FTC player next season.
Joining the club are the Spanish duo Marc Larumbe and Alberto Munarriz, as well as Montenegrin goalkeeper Petar Tesanovic.
