Jadran Herceg Novi has earned the right to participate in the Champions League without having to go through the qualifications due to the recent changes in the format. As the champion of Montenegro, it is eligible to receive a wild card. The club is eager to compete in the CHL and achieve good results. Therefore, Jadran is currently in talks with several experienced foreign players.
The latest news from the transfer market said that it’s almost sure that Russian leftie Ivan Nagaev, who played for Vasas the last season, will move to Jadran. His fellow compatriot, Dmitri Kholod, may leave Spandau 04 and join Jadran.
Nagaev played for Waspo Hannover for a few seasons before moving to Vasas. He won three titles of the German champion with Hannover and played in the Champions League Final Eight twice. Nagaev won the LEN Euro Cup wearing Vasas’ cap.
As for Vasas, the club has said goodbye to five players since the end of the season: goalkeeper Branislav Mitrovic (he moved to Tourcoing), Balazs Erdelyi (Savona), Drasko Brguljan (he might return to Primorac), Tamas Mezei and Tamas Sedlmayer. So far, the club hasn’t presented its reinforcements, but it’s known that Strahinja Rasovic (Novi Beograd), Marton Levai (OSC), Gergely Burian (OSC) and a few younger Hungarian players will move to Vasas.
Dmitri Kholod arrived in Germany in the same year as Nagaev -in 2019 and has played for Spandau since then. He has been one of the key players of the most decorated German club, which won the German Championships in the past season.
The two were teammates in Dinamo Moscow when the club from the capital of Russia played in the Champions League.
